The Race for Sonderman is a 95-min animated feature film that follows Trina’s journey after moving to Sonderman, a small town in Ontario, Canada. 10-yr old Trina is sad and reeling after losing her Father in a work-related accident, and her Grandfather. Being a new student at Sonderman Public School is tough too. One day while walking home through a park, Trina encounters some bullies who chase her into a mysterious old-growth forest. Overcome with fear, Trina hides behind a large boulder, and listens intently as the bullies leave. 73 year old Hank, who saw the bullies chase Trina, enters the forest and when Trina starts hitting his electric wheelchair with a stick. After calming Trina down, Hank gives Trina a tour of the old growth forest and its flora and fauna, a forest he used to play in as a child. Trina and Hank become good friends and this begins an incredible healing journey for both Trina and Hank. After learning that the old growth forest is slated for development, Trina decides to help Hank and his senior friends from an old age home to run a fundraising wheelchair race to save the forest and unite a divided town in decline. They recruit other town folk and seniors from neighboring seniors homes to a rally at the Town hall to confront the corrupt and evil town council and a strange developer named Gridde. After learning that Gridde is in fact Hank’s childhood friend, Hank confronts Gridde and convinces him to sell the forest to the Senior’s Home. However the Town Council has another plan and an epic wheel chair race ensues to decide the fate of the mysterious forest and the future of the Town.
